Academy District 20 (ASD20) has a district-wide Boys Volleyball Program. All ASD20 high schools can participate.
If you are a Discovery Canyon Campus High School (DCCHS) student, follow the instructions on our athletics registration page. If you do not attend DCCHS, refer to the DCCHS School Assignments & Request for Participation announcement.
Practices take place in the DCCHS gym.
Our Head Coach
Coach Wayne Wetherby will be in his first year coaching the DCC Boys Volleyball Team. He has been a coach at DCC for the past 13 years as an assistant track & field, jumpers specifically, and had numerous athletes qualify and place at the Colorado State Track & Field Championships. He has been a teacher for 23 years and the past 12 years he has been teaching at DCC High School, mostly IB Psychology.
This will be Coach Wetherby’s 30th year coaching volleyball. He has coached at the club, high school, and college level. He has coached girls high school volleyball for 12 years as an assistant and head coach, and coached girls club volleyball for 15 years as a head coach for multiple age groups from 14’s through 18’s where he was known for developing skilled players. He took multiple teams to the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships. Coach Wetherby also spent 15 years at Colorado College as an assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team, one of the most successful collegiate volleyball programs in the state having earned 22 straight NCAA National Championship appearances. Coach Wetherby was responsible for the defense during his time at CC. He was also a coach for USA Volleyball’s High Performance Volleyball Camps and a court coach for the USA Volleyball Women’s National Team and Junior National Team tryouts.
Coach Wetherby has also played volleyball for 25 years. He played for the Colorado State University Men’s Club Team for 3 years, where he was a defensive specialist, setter, and outside hitter, and has played on many adult 6 on 6, 4 on 4, and doubles teams.
