About The Coaching Staff
Head Coach: David Hedges
Coaching History
Coach Hedges comes to Pine Creek from Niceville High School in Florida. Niceville is a traditional football power in the upper Florida panhandle and David was the offensive coordinator for a program that went an impressive 52-8 during the last five years in the Florida 7A classification.
Coach Hedges directed the NHS offense that was the number # 1 rated scoring offense in the state of Florida in 2020 and also produced the Florida Player of the Year. Mr. Hedges taught weightlifting classes at Niceville and also served as the head coach for the Girls Weightlifting team, plus he led and directed the Strength and Conditioning program for football and the cheer team.
Ties to Colorado Springs
Additionally, Coach Hedges has strong ties to Colorado and specifically the Colorado Springs area. He played his high school football here at Sand Creek High School where he earned a Division 1 scholarship to play football at the University of South Dakota.
After graduating from USD with a Bachelor's degree in physical education, he went on to earn a Master's degree in Sports Management from Minnesota State. While at Minnesota State, he briefly served as the Tight Ends Coach and was also the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Coach Hedges has also played for the Herlev Rebels, an American football team based in Copenhagen Denmark.
Coach Hedges later transitioned from playing ball to coaching at the high school level. In Colorado, he has coaches at Smoky Hill, Gateway and Fort Lupton. In addition to his previously mentioned team in Niceville, Florida, he has also served as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at C.W. Ruckel Middle School in Niceville, FL.
