Student Organizations

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

FBLA is a nationally known student organization offered at PCHS. Freshmen through seniors are encouraged to be a part of this exciting club. There is no class requirement for FBLA so anyone can join no matter what track they are on or what their class schedule looks like.

Through FBLA students can attend leadership conferences and compete in District Competition, and State Competitions. Students compete in a variety of events including (but not limited to) business law, economics, finance, marketing, website design, programming, word processing, public speaking, health care administration, and much more. There are over seventy events to choose from and the competitions are performed in a variety of methods. Some students take a written multiple-choice test while other students present in front of judges. Other competitions are report & research-based projects and others produced on a computer and sent in for judging. No matter what your student’s interests, there is something in FBLA that will fit well for them. Students compete first in a district competition. Then from there they can advance to the state competition. And finally, students can compete at nationals during the summer.

In addition to the competitions, students take part in community service as well as social activities. Occasionally, DECA and FBLA partner together for activities such as laser tag or bowling nights. We hope to see you in DECA, FBLA & Business, Marketing, and Computer Courses!

DECA

DECA is an International association of marketing students.  In order to be a member of DECA you must be concurrently enrolled in a marketing course, available beginning freshman year and starting with Marketing 1. In each of the four levels of marketing, students spend an entire year that takes them through a variety of activities, competitions and content that they are sure to enjoy!

In the DECA program you will learn the fundamentals of business and marketing through creative projects and competitions. Other opportunities you have as a DECA member include competitions such as 50 vs. 50, district, state, and our international career development competition as well as leadership and industry specific conferences held in various locations around the country, as well as other local competitions around Colorado!

Community service activities such as a 5K as well as various social activities including t-shirt days (free food, drink and prices!), DECA diamond hunts, Laser Quest, bowling nights , movie nights, and spirit nights are all an integral part of DECA. In addition, there are leadership activities such as the State DECA officer team, Pine Creek Officer Team and the opportunity to attend various leadership conferences. Students also have the opportunity to work in the our screen printing company, Early Eagle Coffee Shop and DECA Concession stand, receiving a hands-on, real job & learning experiences.

DECA is an excellent way for students to learn about the business world.  There are four full years of DECA available to students as that all include a DECA component.  Since DECA begins freshman year, many students join both DECA & FBLA as freshmen to get a feel for the culture of DECA.  Register for Marketing 1 today!
