About Career Academies

The career academy concept has these key elements:

  • A small learning community (SLC)

  • A college-prep sequential curriculum with a career theme (CTE)

  • An advisory board that forges partnerships with employers, higher education institutions, and the broader community

  • A sequenced, comprehensive work-based learning embedded component

  • College credit/industry certification opportunities 

  • A 12th grade culminating project (internship, capstone project, defense of learning, etc.) 

In their chosen Academy, students will benefit from:

Pine Creek High School will be offering Career Academies in Computer Science and Graphic Art. Academies are open in 2025 for 9th grade students.

Computer Science Academy

Students in the Computer Science Academy choose a four-year progression of Computer Science classes in one of two possible pathways: Programming or Cybersecurity. Get the details on our Computer Science Academy.

Digital Art Academy

Students in the Graphic Arts Academy have an opportunity to complete one of three different tracks – Graphic Design, Illustration, and Digital Photography. Read more about our Digital Art Academy
