Creative Opportunity
Art awareness often enables self-expression through the use of problem-solving and critical high-order thinking skills. We strive for students to acquire an appreciation and understanding of art and its place in their lives.
Every student has the ability to create amazing artwork, and we endeavor to find that ability and encourage creative growth. Pine Creek Art prides itself on creating high quality visual artwork that goes outside the box of traditional art. We want to offer every creative opportunity that we can, to every student who enrolls in a fine art class.
Students can participate in a wide variety of local, state and national visual art competitions, and have been recognized for their unique creative visions. College credit can be earned through AP art classes and a variety of graphic arts classes. Students participating in graphics art classes can also earn industry certification through the Adobe Certified Associates program.

Fees & Supplies
Most fine arts classes require a fee for necessary materials and supplies. Fees may cover consumable supplies used by each student or partial cost of required software. Each course syllabus (available from your teacher) lists the exact details explaining what the fee covers. Starting January 1 of 2024, once the lab fee has been pushed to a student’s account in Infinite Campus, a refund will not be given if the student decides to drop the class. Financial assistance may be available. Please see your teacher for information.
Skipping Introductory Classes
It is not recommended that anyone skip introductory art classes at Pine Creek. In special circumstances, art instructors are willing to look at and evaluate student portfolios to see if an alternative placement would be a better fit for the student. This is a rare occurrence that does not happen often.
Shows and Competitions
Pine Creek art instructors offer a wide variety of art shows and competitions that students can participate in on a local, state, and national level. Pine Creek Art Department prides itself on strong showings and placements in competitive art competitions.
College Credit
There are a number of art classes that you can receive college credit for. Please ask your art teacher to see what credit is available for you, and what colleges we have articulation agreements with.
