Next Season

Esports had two seasons - one in the fall and one in the spring. In fall 2024, the team plans to compete in Rocket League and Splatoon 3. Students interested in joining should contact Pine Creek Esports coaches, Steve Errickson and Brittney Nelson at the start of the 2024 school year.

History of Esports

The Colorado High School Athletics Association (CHSAA) made high school esports an official CHSAA-sanctioned activity in the fall of 2022. Over the past three years, participation in the program has grown by 67 percent with a total of 143 schools now participating in CHSAA esports. This is roughly 40 percent of CHSAA member schools.

Thoughts on Esports from Governor Polis

“We know that the skills you get gaming are very highly transferable in life, just as they are in many sports, of course." Governor Polis commented during a brief visit to the early rounds of the tournament. "Leadership, collaboration, but also problem-solving, critical thinking -- all of those you use in gaming."
