About the Competition
To promote Youth Art Month, the Colorado Art Education Association invited student to recreate the State Flag using the national theme, "Dream in Art." Each state coordinates a flag design contest.
Earning First Place
Kaitlyn's re-design of the Colorado state flag earned first place in the entire state for the high school division of the Colorado Art Education Association's annual art contest.
The winning design gets made into a flag for display in the Youth Art Month Museum at the National Art Education Association (NAEA) annual National Convention.
Kaitlyn's design was also on display at the Colorado Art Education Association Conference this past week in Breckenridge, and will be share all over CAEA / YAM social media websites. She received a $100 gift card from Dick Blick Art Supply as a part of this award.
