Next Steps - Moving from Good to Great
The team has worked hard to prepare for the opportunity to compete at the State level over the past eight weeks. This week they will fine-tune their skills and mental focus in order to compete in the State Competition February 16th, 17th, and 18th at Ball Arena in Denver.
According to Pine Creek Wrestling Coach, Billy Gabel, the difference between a good wrestler and a great onelies in an athlete’s mental focus. “There is often little physical difference between the 6th placer at State and the State Champion,” Coach Gabel said. “But the mental gap may as well be the size of the Grand Canyon. To win the state title you have to win the mental battle -- believe to achieve!”
