The Music

"Beethoven's 5 Secrets," combines five separate melodies from the four movements of Beethoven's 5th Symphony and the song, "Secrets," by OneRepublic. Our musicians memorized their part, had a brief practice with The Piano Guys before the show, and then performed on stage!

Support of Music Education

The Piano Guys, led by pianist Jon Schmidt and cellist Steven Sharp Nelson, have inspired audiences to engage with classical music in new ways may times over through their unique musical composition and showmanship. Their work also continues to inspire young musicians and articulates the essential nature of music education for students at all levels.

"You bond with people in a different way though music," said violinist, Stacy Bahn who plays with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony in addition to Pine Creek's Chamber Orchestra. "It's communication without words; you're making something beautiful together!"

Violinist Andrew George, who is also in Colorado Springs Youth Symphony, thrives on opportunities to exercise high quality articulation, expressive dynamics, and the ability to play in tune both individually as well as with a group so that he can play challenging pieces at the highest level. Making friends and travelling through his involvement in music programs have also brought him fulfillment. "I enjoy experiences where I've put in a lot of work and then I get to play music I love with people l love," he said. "It's extremely validating."

Congratulations, Violinists!
