Portfolios will include sketchbook(s); written samples demonstrating an understanding of the vocabulary and processes of art criticism; dedicated studies of various aspects of art history; supportive research substantiating studio processes; an artist statement summarizing their individual approach to the visual arts; a student-artist resume that promotes their accomplishments; and photographic, digital, and slide representations of their work These courses are is especially designed for those students interested in pursuing a visual arts career or college major.

Students who apply may be eligible for dual credit in which they earn college as well as high school credit at the same time through CU Succeed (VA 1030 Digital Foundations/VA 2150 Beginning Digital Photography). Students should see their grade level counselor for scheduling details.
