 Meet the Exceptional Student Education Department

Denver University logoAmy Wasson is a Resource Teacher, Case Manager and Department Chair with the Exceptional Student Education Team. Amy graduated from Wright State University in Ohio and earned a Master's Degree in Education and an Education Leadership degree from Denver University. She has a daughter who attends Pine Creek.

University of Colorado Colorado Springs logoMarion Loehr has been the SSN Teacher at Pine Creek since 2017. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Special Education from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. 

University of Colorado Colorado Springs logoKimberlee McWhirter grew up in Colorado Springs and attended District 20 schools. She is a Special Education Resource Teacher and Case Manager. She graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She has a Master's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Special Education.

Concordia University Irvine logoClint Moore was raised as an Army brat, is the oldest of five, and lived in seven different states growing up.  Clint graduated from the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga with a B. S. in Psychology and began his career in education as a Special Education para-professional before attending UCCS's Alternative Licensing program.  Prior to joining the staff at Pine Creek, Clint worked at Sand Creek High School as an Affective Needs teacher; was a Resource Teacher at Fountain-Ft. Carson High School; and stayed at home for three years with his twin boys.  Clint has been a Resource Teacher at Pine Creek High School since 2017 and is also an assistant coach on the track team.  


Lupe Robinson is a Special Education paraprofessional and has been with Academy District 20 for the last 17 years. The last eight years have been with Pine Creek.


Jessica Heitz is a paraprofessional in the SSN room. She has been a part of Pine Creek's staff for one year! She enjoys taking students to gym classes and spending time with the team in room 501! Outside of work she runs, hikes, and fishes.

Jessica Herman has been a Para here at Pine Creek since 2013. She has two children that are also students at Pine Creek. Friday is her favorite day in room 501, because they cook!


Sharon Mason and have been a para for over 25 years. She has worked with special needs for twenty years. She has been with the SSN classroom at Pine Creek since it started in 2001.


Nessa Peterson has been here at Pine Creek since 2016 and really enjoys this school. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family 💕. Her favorite holiday is Halloween.🎃 She is also a huge animal lover.
