FAQs: Fine Arts Frequently Asked Questions
The mission of art education at PCHS is to enable students to explore various media and techniques which incorporate fundamental art concepts. Through technology, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional media, students will gain social, cultural, and historical awareness of art which will enable self-expression through the use of problem-solving and critical high-order thinking skills. Our goal is for students to acquire an appreciation and understanding of art and its place in their lives. We believe that every student has the ability to create some amazing artwork, it is our job to find that ability and encourage creative growth. Pine Creek Art prides itself on creating high quality visual artwork that goes outside the box of traditional art. We want to offer every creative opportunity that we can, to every student who enrolls in a fine art class. Students participate in a wide variety of local, state and national visual art competitions, and have been recognized for their unique creative visions. College credit can be earned through AP art classes and a variety of graphic arts classes. Students participating in graphics art classes can also earn industry certification through the Adobe Certified Associates program.The Fine Arts Department is an amazing, fun place to be, and we can't wait to start creating with you!
