Kolette Back - Principal
Kolette has served her entire career in Academy School
District 20. She taught for one year at Air Academy High School, and then was
at Rampart High School for 16 years as the DECA/Marketing teacher, and later,
assistant principal. Kolette earned her BA in Marketing from Colorado State
University and worked in the insurance industry before becoming a teacher. She
then earned her MA in Curriculum and Instruction. Kolette became principal of
Pine Creek in 2012. Her husband, Jeff, has been the Pine Creek DECA/Marketing
teacher since the school opened, and five of the six Back children were Eagles!

Matt Mahan - Assistant Principal
Matt is the assistant principal serving the class of 2023. He came to Pine Creek in 2010. Prior to working at Pine Creek, he worked at high schools in Wisconsin, Denver, and Colorado Springs. His teaching duties included physical education and health,
along with coaching football, basketball, track, and softball. He began
his administrative career in 2003 as an assistant principal/athletic director
and has served as an administrator ever since.
He grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and graduated with a Bachelor's degree from
Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin and earned his Master's
degree from the University of Phoenix. He is married and has two
children; the oldest is in college, and the youngest attends Pine Creek. In his
spare time he enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities,
and traveling. Go Eagles!
Joshua Trahan - Assistant Principal
Joshua is currently
serving in the position of Assistant Principal and will oversee the class of
2021. He received his B.A in Exercise Physiology, his Master’s Degree in
Human Performance, and his Certificate in Educational Leadership from Adams
State University. Before his time in education he worked as an assistant
Track and Field coach at Adams State. He has worked for Alamosa School
District and the Lewis Palmer School district before joining District 20.
Joshua was on the inaugural staff that opened Palmer Ridge High School in
2008. During his educational career he has been a teacher, coach, department
head, athletic director, and assistant principal. For fun Joshua enjoys
spending time with his wife and 4 children, exercising, and reading.
