On April 9th, 2019, all 11th grade students attending public schools in Colorado will take the SAT.

Parents DO NOT need to register their students for this SAT—all students in the 11th grade will automatically be registered. The only thing that 11th grade students must do to take this test is come to school on April 9th with a pencil, calculator, and an ID.

SAT with Essay

OPTIONAL: SAT with Essay.  The SAT without essay is the default registration for all students. However, Colorado statute requires that students have the option to take the SAT with essay. Adding the essay to a student's SAT registration is a student's choice. The SAT Essay is scored separately from the SAT. A student's score on the essay will not improve or reduce their score on the SAT. Students who wish to take the SAT with essay must register for it during the registration window from January 15 –February 12, 2019.  This is a firm deadline from College Board.

To register for the SAT with Essay, students should access their online College Board account or call the College Board directly (1-866-917-9030, Option 2).
