What about safety precautions?

Please refer to the Return to School plan, which highlights the Safety Protocols in our schools.

Are masks required?

Students, staff, and visitors must wear facial coverings which cover the mouth and nose whenever they are in the building. Like local fitness centers, and in compliance with State orders, the mask requirement includes PE classes when students are in the building. Students may remove masks when eating lunch. For more information about appropriate mask protection, please visit the El Paso County Department of Public Health website. Masks must adhere to the same guidelines appropriate dress in the learning environment. Please refer to the Student Handbook section on Dress Code (page 15) for more information.

How will school entry work?

The doors will open at 7:30 am, and students will proceed directly to class. Students may enter the building through either of the front entry points, which will be monitored by Security and Administration. All other exterior doors will remain closed and locked throughout the school day. The security of our building and the safety of our students remains our primary goal.

All students and staff will be required to wear their Pine Creek IDs visibly at all times. Lanyards will be provided with student IDs during Check-in at the Creek.

At the end of the day, all students will immediately leave campus and the building closes at 3:00 pm.

What about handwashing and sanitizing?

Students will be regularly reminded to wash their hands, and automatic hand sanitizing stations are available in every classroom and throughout the school.

What about safety drills?

Pine Creek will continue to conduct all required safety and security drills throughout the school year to include Fire Drills, Lockdown Drills, and Shelter-in-Place.

What else is are you doing to encourage distancing?

Teachers are encouraged to use learning spaces creatively and to take students outside when possible. For that reason, we encourage our students to be prepared with a jacket, sunglasses or hat, and sunscreen in case their class goes outside.
